20241208 cherik dream
>Prison. Charles strikes a deal with Erik: he gets protection, Erik gets sex
>"Charles, Charles. Are you okay?"
Charles becomes aware of his surroundings again. He and Erik are wearing suits, meeting with a therapist for couple therapy.
List of things Charles's mind is total blank about:
— they are in their suburb home — Erik is his husband — they have a daughter, Jean — his life up until this point — generally whatever the fuck is going on — who he is
>Erik is worried, naturally. His husband doesn't seem to know shit all of a sudden.
>Charles investigates the situation while keeping on the facade
>He discovers that
— the life with Erik is a projection — but they are real — their physical bodies are in a research facility that does experiment on mutants — Charles somehow finds a way to interfere with the projection but fails halfway — He tries to do it again
Sorry guys, no ending since i woke up 😂

Source Code (2011) - Film Review and Analysis
“What would you do if you knew you had less than one minute to live?” Christina asks. Colter Stevens replies, “I’d make those seconds count.” In a reality that shatters and rebuilds every eight minutes, how do you make seconds count? Duncan Jones’s Source Code isn’t just a high-octane thriller; it’s a dizzying plunge into the very nature of existence, asking whether a borrowed eight minutes can…

MOON (2009) (1385)
Moon is a 2009 science fiction film directed by Duncan Jones (in his directorial debut) and written by Nathan Parker from a story by Jones. Moon (2009 film) - Wikipedia
The film follows Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell), a man who experiences a personal crisis as he nears the end of a three-year solitary stint mining helium-3 on the far side of the Moon. A follow-up film containing an epilogue to the film's events, Mute, was released in 2018. A third installment, a graphic novel called Madi: Once Upon a Time in the Future, was released in 2020.

Mute is a 2018 tech-noir film directed by Duncan Jones, who co-wrote the script with Michael Robert Johnson. A follow-up to his 2009 film Moon. The story revolves around a mute bartender (Skarsgård) searching for the love of his life (Seyneb Saleh) who has mysteriously disappeared. A third installment, a graphic novel called Madi: Once Upon A Time In The Future, was released in 2020.
The film received negative reviews, with praise for the visuals but criticism for its pacing, plot, and mishandled subject material.

The following voiced article on about the graphic novel as a third part of the trilogy will respond perhaps some of the questions you may be asking yourself as I have:
An excerpt from the article above Duncan Jones and Alex de Campi ... interview, the introductory paragraph states: "
A decade ago, filmmaker Duncan Jones was riding high thanks to Source Code, the 2011 sci-fi movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal that was a critical and commercial success. Jones was in a position to dream up something big for his next project, and he imagined Once Upon a Time in the Future, which would be a sprawling sci-fi film that he hoped would reunite him with his team behind his 2009 cult hit Moon.
Source Code is a 2011 U.S. science fiction action thriller film a story about Captain Colter Stevens of the U.S. Army, who is sent into an eight-minute virtual re-creation of a real-life train explosion, and tasked with determining the identity of the terrorist who bombed it. The following text is a conversation I had with AI Copilot about the Jones's Trilogy
I am a little confused, Moon 2009 and mute 2018 are two parts of the trilogy by Duncan Jones, the thrid part of the trilogy is MADI, once upon a time in the futurde 2020. What type of film is it?
"Madi: Once Upon a Time in the Future" is actually a graphic novel, not a film. Duncan Jones, the director of "Moon" and "Mute," collaborated with writer Alex de Campi and several renowned comic artists to create this graphic novel. It completes the "Mooniverse" trilogy, which includes "Moon" (2009) and "Mute" (2018).
So, we can say it is not a trilogy in the traditional sense or am I still confused?
You're right—it's not a trilogy in the traditional sense where all parts are films. Instead, the "Mooniverse" trilogy by Duncan Jones consists of different media formats. The trilogy includes:
Moon (2009) - a film.
Mute (2018) - a film.
Madi: Once Upon a Time in the Future (2020) - a graphic novel.
The storylines and universe are connected, but the formats vary, making it a unique trilogy. Does that help clarify things?
So what is the connection with the first two parts and Madi?
"Madi: Once Upon a Time in the Future" is connected to "Moon" and "Mute" through its setting in the same shared universe, known as the "Mooniverse." Here are some connections and thematic links:
Shared Universe: All three works are set in the same sci-fi universe, with overlapping themes and backgrounds that create a cohesive world.
Technological and Corporate Influence: The trilogy explores the impact of corporations and advanced technology on individuals and society. This theme is central to all three stories, creating a sense of continuity.
Characters and Cameos: There are character references and cameos that tie the stories together. For example, you might find references to events or characters from "Moon" and "Mute" within "Madi."
Social and Ethical Questions: Each part of the trilogy raises important ethical questions about identity, humanity, and the future, providing a thematic connection across different formats.
While "Madi" is a graphic novel and not a film, its storyline and themes are interwoven with those of "Moon" and "Mute," creating a rich and interconnected narrative experience.
Madi: Once Upon a Time in the Future" and its connections to the previous parts.
In "Moon": We follow Sam Bell, who works alone on a lunar base, and the film delves into themes of isolation, identity, and corporate control. It’s a very intimate story with profound implications about the human condition.
In "Mute": The setting shifts to a bustling, futuristic Berlin. This story centers on Leo, a mute bartender searching for his missing girlfriend. The narrative highlights the darker sides of technology and corporate power, maintaining the thematic elements from "Moon."
In "Madi": The story expands on the "Mooniverse" through the experiences of Madi, an elite soldier on the run who takes on a job that spirals out of control. While it is a graphic novel, its narrative weaves in elements from the first two stories, focusing on similar themes of individuality, resistance against oppressive systems, and the influence of advanced technology.
The three parts together create a tapestry of stories that reflect on how technology and corporate interests shape the world and human experiences within it. Though the formats are different—two films and a graphic novel—their interconnected themes and universe make them a cohesive trilogy.

One time loop trope I love is when the victim of the time loop eventually comes to the realization that nothing matters to them anymore, that there is no punishment that lasts longer than the loop nor any punishment that is worse than the loop itself, so why try to play by the rules?
Interestingly, in Source Code (2011) Captain Colter Stevens is objectively right to do so, even if the alternate universe theory is true. Everyone he interacts with on the train, barring Derek Frost, dies in the next 8 minutes in almost every universe. It really doesn't matter if he pretends to be a government official or threatens someone's life, since they'll all be dead no matter what.
#at least this is the case in the universes capt. stevens does opt for the efficient violence route#well efficient is the wrong word#quick is better#i personally am not married to the alternate universe theort#but that's a conversation for another post#well it'll be a conversation if anyone else has watched this movie ever#source code#source code (2011)#sci fi#time loops

UPDATE: As of 25/04/2025, 4chan is back up and running again. This post and its addendum will be kept as is, and will no longer be updated unless it goes back down again. If you were on /ghost/, it was a pleasure shitposting with you.
All right, I know no one gives a shit, but let me give you a recounting of the fall of 4chan from the perspective of someone who was there and has been lurking both 4chan and tumblr for a few years now.
I'll try to provide as much context as I can, but a lot of images were either lost or im too lazy to look for them in the +5000 reply thread in soyjak party.
Anyways, info below:
So, necessary context: a few years back, 4chan had a board called /qa/, which if you know little about the page, you may think every board is like /b/ or /pol/, which means a containment cess pool of grifters, (you) baiters, incels, and other deranged individuals. The thing is, /qa/ was somehow worse. The entire board was plagued and infested with soyjack edits, board culture was a nuclear disaster, anons were incredibly hostile in there, you know the drill, the big bad 4chan, but this time its actually true.
One day, moderation deleted /qa/, anons that posted there got mad, tried to raid other boards, failed, and then moved on to an altchan called soyjack party, which entire purpose you can guess from its name alone.
Apparently, the boards that allow pdf uploads (paper and origami, for example) didn't check if the uploaded file was actually a pdf file, so postscript files could be used to get access. This is as far as my understanding of web backend goes, sorry.
The hacker claims to have been working on this since 2021, and that he had access since about a year ago, but was recopilating data.
Now, what actually happened when the hack ocurred? Well, a banner of miku dancing with a song that played automatically was placed on top of every board, with the text "/QA/ IS BACK", this was possible because apparently no board was ever deleted, they were just hidden from the public.
A thread was then made on soyjack party, claiming authorship over the hack, and shit went south from there. Anons went en masse to talk there, a lot of weird discussion happened, the thread got the bump limit removed and got pinned, more than 5k posts were amassed on the first night alone. Keep in mind this happened at about 8 pm and most of the stuff went on through midnight.
So, the hacker leaked some things, first of all, the html files for the entirety of /j/ and the email address for every moderation member (important note: the pressence of .gov mails was disproven by the hacker themselves, so i guess there were never any feds), what is /j/? the board exclusive for jannies and moderators to discuss actions taken on the website regarding spam, ban evaders, threads spiraling out of control, etc. Among other things, some of the inner workings of 4chan got revealed, such as the web extension for jannies that allows them to do their job easily, how reports are handled, and other stuff. (Anecdotically, some guy got permabanned for calling anons jews or n-words over a 100 times in the same few threads)
Then, the source code got leaked. Important to say, the hacker removed the part of the source code related to the captcha, as to not facilitate bot attacks on the future, and all information related to email verification or 4chan pass users information also got removed, so all in all users are safe.
What was found on the sourcecode? That it was old, mostly. Most boards used code that hasn't been updated since about 2016, and /flash/ used the exact same code from when it was created back on 2011.
From there, desuarchive, a site that archives threads that die from bump limit, opened a dragon ball general on ghost mode, and thus began what later got called /ghost/, a solely text based thread with well over 20k replies as of right now, where a fraction of the 4chan population took refuge and is currently discussing random things with no particular topic. Kinda hard to read, but its comfy.
What does this mean for other sites? Not a lot, really. A lot of anons already crossposted in 4chan and tumblr already, and the ones that din't most likely wont come here. Some of the bigger/most dedicated groups, like /vt/, migrated to other boards. Various altchans are trying/tried to catch some of the flock of users that got lost, but i doubt it will get anywhere, since soyjak party for example was struggling with just the influx of users that came for the hack thread given its poor infrastructure. Kiwifarms saw a surge of new accounts apparently, but a lot of anons kinda loathe the idea of having to register, so theres that.
Smaller communities, such as generals that didn't get a lot of traffic, or boards on the slower end (say, /ic/, /lit/, etc) will probably vanish or disseminate until (or if) 4chan comes back up. I'd say give it a month, don't get your hopes up whether you want it to stay dead or want it to come back.
Given how many anons are staying on places like /ghost/ or other similar archives with the same ghost posting feature, i doubt it will be as bad as people are making it sound. Besides, the communities that are most likely to migrate to places like tumblr are either /co/, /vg/ or /lgbt/ refugees, which aren't THAT bad. Not every board was like the main cesspools (/b/, /r9k/, /pol/).
From now on, either 4chan comes back up in a few weeks (somewhere between 2 weeks to a month is expected), altchans capture the migrating anons, or a brand new imageboard rises from the ashes to become the new go-to site for old 4chan posters.
In conclusion, nothing ever happens, but also don't worry, chances are this won't affect tumblr in the slightest. If it does, you can cash in your "you were wrong" ticket whenever you want, i'll take the L.
As a footnote, keep in mind: NO users were compromised, if you ever posted there and are worried for your safety, physical or digital, you are safe.
Edit: Forgot to add, if you are a 4chan refugee, im BEGGING you to dm me and tell what board you were from and where are you migrating, if at all.

this is my most autistic half-birthday ever!
I gave myself the day to pursue a special interest and fulfill an offer I'd made last year.
The Jewish Virtual Library has a page listing all the rocket and mortar attacks on Israel since 2001 (which was when they first started). But it's incomplete. Last fall, I noticed it stopped in August, so I wrote to them offering to help update it. They thanked me and gave me some places I could look.
Today, I finally did it. I ended up cross-referencing with the lists on Wikipedia, digging through multiple Twitter accounts and outside news sources and NGOs, and sending them an email with my updates... plus an html file where I'd updated the code on the page so they could just check it and upload it instead of typing in all the data themselves.
I am such a huge nerd.
There's definitely more research to do. But I think I found a strong stopping place that let me actually send what I found and post about it. Which is always the hardest part. As my drafts folder could tell you.
I have more than two thousand drafts on here.
Anyway, I'm going to put my findings under a cut tag. Before you read on, I want you to try to guess.
Because one of the things I've been told most often by people who wanna Argue About Palestine Without Having To Learn Anything About Palestine (Or Israel Or History Or Imperialism Or Fact-Checking Or ?????) is that the reason for October 7, the reason for literally anything in fact, is that "Israel bombs Palestine constantly."
I want to put together a list of Israeli airstrikes next. I would love to reblog this with that information. But first, I want you to guess:
Note that this DOES NOT include terrorist car rammings, mass shootings, mass stabbings, bus bombings, suicide bombings, etc. It therefore excludes almost the entire Second Intifada.
After correcting the most recent four years and sending in my corrections, I made a list of the totals using the most complete collection I could find for each year. (Sometimes it was Jewish Virtual Library, sometimes it was Wikipedia, and sometimes they matched.)
2024: 12,629 (an average of 35 per day)
2023: 12,295 (34 per day)
2022: 1,180 (only 3 per day)
2021: 4,425 (12 per day)
2020: about 203
2019: 798+
2018: 348+, 0.95 per day
2017: Only 47!!! Why, it's almost like living in Canada!! 0.1 per day.
2016: Wow, only 20. See, if you go through the years backwards, it looks like progress is being made. Very exciting. Until I get to the Second Intifada, probably. 0.05 per day.
2015: 58.
2014: oh right, that war. 4,778. (Wikipedia's 2015 list claims " In August 2014, Operation Protective Edge was ended after 4,594 rockets and mortars launched toward Israel. From the end of the operation came into force an unofficial cease-fire between Israel and Hamas." but there were three more after that, and 181 before it, listed on wikipedia alone. so like. 4,778 actually, for 13 a day.)
2013: 70 total. Wikipedia notes this was the lowest number since 2001.
2012: 2,442, or 6.7 per day.
2011: 680, for 1.9 a day.
2010: 365, for exactly one a day.
2009: 858, or 2.4 per day.
2008: 3,107! that's 8.5 a day.
2007: 2,807: 7.7 a day.
2006: 1,275, or 3.5 a day.
2005: 858. An average of 2.4 per day.
2004: 1,158.
2003: 637.
2002: 472.]
2001: "These attacks commenced in April 2001, although the first rocket to hit an Israeli city was on 5 March 2002, and the first Israeli fatality was 28 June 2004." I count 173 mortar attacks in 2001, however. Which makes the first fatality a critically-injured baby in 2001. And as soon as I make 250+ more edits and have the power to edit Wikipedia articles on "controversial" topics, I'll make it say so.
Grand Total: 51,685.
An average of SIX PER DAY.
FOR 24 YEARS.
I've been saying four.
But there were actually thousands that weren't listed on the Virtual Library site yet. It really cranked up that average.
Now consider this: between 10%-30% misfire and either crash into the sea, or hit Gaza.
A surprising number of Gazan casualties in every "conflict" have been from Hamas & Co's own missiles.
And they know this. And not only do they not care, but they keep using everything from mosques to humanitarian zones as rocket launch sites.
And why shouldn't they? You have to really dig to find information on how many Gazans die that way. Almost everyone just attributes the deaths to Israel. Hamas is never going to get any actual flak for accidentally killing its own civilians. It barely gets any flak for intentionally killing Israeli civilians, for pete's sake.

MESSENGER's Last Day on Mercury Image Credit: NASA, Johns Hopkins Univ. APL, Arizona State Univ., CIW
Explanation: The first to orbit inner planet Mercury, the MESSENGER spacecraft came to rest on this region of Mercury's surface on April 30, 2015. Constructed from MESSENGER image and laser altimeter data, the projected scene looks north over the northeastern rim of the broad, lava filled Shakespeare basin. The large, 48 kilometer (30 mile) wide crater Janacek is near the upper left edge. Terrain height is color coded with red regions about 3 kilometers above blue ones. MESSENGER'S final orbit was predicted to end near the center, with the spacecraft impacting the surface at nearly 4 kilometers per second (over 8,700 miles per hour) and creating a new crater about 16 meters (52 feet) in diameter. The impact on the far side of Mercury was not observed by telescopes, but confirmed when no signal was detected from the spacecraft given time to emerge from behind the planet. Launched in 2004, the MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemisty and Ranging spacecraft completed over 4,000 orbits after reaching the Solar System's innermost planet in 2011.

Russia proposes banning quadrobics and furry fandom
[This article was originally posted on the main blog for Otherkin News, on DreamWidth: https://otherkinnews.dreamwidth.org/95252.html Orion Scribner @frameacloud wrote it on December 8, 2024.]
The Kremlin-aligned Safe Internet League is an organization for censoring the internet in Russia and educating the public about risks they may encounter there. The State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children helped establish the organization in 2011. The League’s Ombudsman is Irina Volynets. In the spring of 2024, Volynets said that the furry fandom and quadrobics are both dangerous hobbies. She said that furries dress as pigs and eat from troughs. (Later, a furry explained to the news that they don’t do that.) Soon afterward, Volynets claimed to have received death threats from quadrobists, which she said shows they’re generally hostile. The League doesn’t plan to ban cartoons for having furry characters. Instead, they want to ban quadrobics and furry fans for encouraging “crazy” behavior and having direct connections with LGBT. Russia bans LGBT for allegedly being an extremist movement.
At the end of the summer of 2024, Russian pop singer Mia Boyka humiliated a small child for expressing an interest in quadrobics. Boyka derided the cat-masked child to tears on the concert stage in front of a booing audience. Boyka then posted a video clip of that to her TikTok, asking her followers what they thought of quadrobics. The child’s parents filed a police report, because they hadn’t consented to Boyka doing any of this. The child had been brought on stage because she had gotten lost at the concert so her parents could come find her. Other celebrities and authorities scolded Boyka for her cruelty. Yekaterina Mizulina, head of the Safe Internet League, wrote to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation that she thought that what Boyka did was unacceptable treatment of a child, even though she didn’t support quadrobics either.
In September, soon after Boyka’s video clip went viral, Russian Senator Natalia Kosikhina proposed banning quadrobics. The Senator claimed that the sport was dangerous because supposedly, quadrobist teens attack and bite people who visit parks. So far, I haven’t found names, dates, or proof that those sorts of attacks actually happened. State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab says the ban is unnecessary, because the Code of Administrative Offenses would cover any bad behavior that could develop in connection with the hobby, whereas the hobby itself is a healthy form of play.
Something consistent across the articles that I read about this is that they describe quadrobics as a fashionable hobby among children and teens, derived from normal ways that smaller children play, and connected with the furry fandom. They don’t mention therianthropes.
About the author: Orion Scribner is a moderator on the Otherkin News blog. I used machine translation to get the gist of the Russian-language sources, which isn't a real translation, so I welcome corrections to that from fluent speakers. However, I never write articles with the assistance of procedural generation or so-called artificial intelligence (AI), and that type of content isn’t allowed on this blog.

Kholodov, Vlad (Влад Холодов) (April 26, 2024). “Психиатр Федорович: Увлечение «фурри» может нарушить психику ребенка.” (“Psychiatrist Fedorovich: The furry fandom can violate the psyche of the child.”) Общественной службе новостей (Public News Source). https://www.osnmedia.ru/obshhestvo/psihiatr-fedorovich-uvlechenie-furri-mozhet-narushit-psihiku-rebenka/ Archived May 26, 2024: https://web.archive.org/web/20240526235959/https://www.osnmedia.ru/obshhestvo/psihiatr-fedorovich-uvlechenie-furri-mozhet-narushit-psihiku-rebenka/
This is the original interview with the children’s psychiatrist Alexander Fedorovich about the furry fandom. Despite the clickbait headline, Federovich says that the furry fandom isn’t inherently bad for children, but parents should supervise and pull children out of it if they get into age-inappropriate risks. That seems reasonable, but he does make a strange claim that role-play can interfere with a child’s developing sense of identity, and that it would be healthy only if they do not have an animal character all the time.
Kosolapova, Tatiana (Татьяна Косолапова) (September 12, 2024). “Психолог рассказала, как вести себя при встрече с агрессивными квадроберами” (“The psychologist told how to behave when meeting with aggressive quadrobist.”) Vzglyad. https://vz.ru/news/2024/9/12/1286730.html Archived November 8, 2024: https://web.archive.org/web/20241108083139/https://vz.ru/news/2024/9/12/1286730.html In Russian.
An interview with a psychotherapist from Moscow State University, Vera Sukhikh, about what she thinks of quadrobics. She praises their athleticism as they play outside, and doesn’t think it’s inherently any harm. The journalist claims that quadrobists attack and bite people. The psychotherapist doesn’t actually agree that that happens, but advises that if they do attack you, they’re only children, so you should just explain to them that’s not appropriate behavior. Media Bias Fact Check rates this newspaper as a questionable source with propaganda and many failed fact checks.
Lutsenko, Nadezhda, and Petrov, Anatoly (Надежда Луценко, Анатолий Петров). (September 5, 2024). “«Замаскированная форма экстремизма». В России призвали запретить движение квадроберов.” (“‘A Disguised Form of Extremism’: Russia Calls for Banning Quadrobics Movement.”) 360.ru.https://360.ru/tekst/obschestvo/zamaskirovannaja-forma-ekstremizma-v-rossii-prizvali-zapretit-dvizhenie-kvadroberov/ Archived October 8, 2024: https://web.archive.org/web/20241008065407/https://360.ru/tekst/obschestvo/zamaskirovannaja-forma-ekstremizma-v-rossii-prizvali-zapretit-dvizhenie-kvadroberov/
Political scientist Alexei Yaroshenko has an interview with 360.ru about what he thinks of quadrobics. He says Russia should recognize quadrobics as an extremist movement and banned. He says quadrobists attack passersby because when people imitate animal behavior, they are no longer guided by human morals. He says it’s the same as how people can be transgender in the West. He compares it with the “Blue Whale Challenge,” and says that quadrobics is also a deadly game. (Orion’s note: the Blue Whale Challenge is an urban legend. It was a moral panic in 2016 where people were afraid that millions of youth were committing suicide as the climax of a specific series of dares being given to them by administrators on social media.) He says that if children play on all fours, then next they will want to cross the street at the wrong place, as animals do. Everything he said was out of touch with reality. This is also the only source I read that claimed that the pop singer hadn’t really insulted the little child, that she had told her she was beautiful without her mask. That’s a distortion of facts, because independent news sources and Kremlin-aligned ones had all agreed that the pop star had gone too far in mistreating the child.

Media Bias Fact Check rates this as a high credibility source with a left-center bias. This is the English-language source where I first heard about this. Hat tip to Mord for having posted a link to it in the Discord server for the Otherkin Wiki. Many of the other sources that I’m listing here, I learned about them from this article.

About the Senator’s proposal to ban quadrobics. I think this article may be the primary source for her proposal. It sounds like she said it directly to this newspaper. If there’s a legal source for the proposed ban itself, I don’t know where to look for it. Media Bias Fact Check rates this Russian government owned newspaper as a questionable source with state propaganda and many failed fact checks.

30 Million Subscriber Q&A summary!
i didnt catch all the questions as i was writing as it was going (also english is not my first language so some things slipped, sorry about that)
Skim was also in the Q&A as he is a writer and director so i'm adding some of his answers too
now, the questions!
Q: Where was Alan in Animation vs Minecraft? A: The whole 3 seasons happened in like 4 hours and Alan isnt on his computer 24/7 so he probably was in another room or working on a laptop and leaving the sticks to their shenanigans
Q: how did Purple ended up in the mac with the villagers? A: in Alan's mind: since he came out of a thumbnail in 2011 he had like 7-8 years to live and learn. Somewhere in the journey he found a mac, minecraft, and made his little village
Q: is Animation vs Education canon in AvA/M? A: AvE was made to educate and trying to make it fit with AvA/M wouldnt make sense. it could be an alternative universe or a dream
Q: is The Dark Lord gonna come back? Alan: do you want him to come back? chat: YES (they already made a desicion. Alan: "You will see in an upcoming video")
Q: Who made stickfight.com? A: Giving how stickfigures work in the universe, some animator made them and thats how they became to be
They have a plan for Green's socials (didnt say anything more)
Q: Would they be Hatsune Miku fans? A: They get obssesed with things easy so everyone would be Hatsune Miku fans. Alan says Red maybe more than the other (Skim says Yellow)
Q: Are The Second Coming and The Chosen One meant to have a brother type relationship? A: Long lost brothers, born from the same source but they're strangers, they dont know each other
if the series keeps going Alan thinks that they might need to focus on another characters cuz there would be nothing more to tell about the main characters
Q: What would their voices sound like? A: Alan personally doesnt think they have voices (tho he say they have kinda telepathic communication) text in influencer arc is like them translating for us :o
fun fact: whooshes were made with a wood ruler fun fact: there's a short with Blue coughing, that's Skim
Q: What happens with death stickfigures? A: Their code is still there just not connected. like theyre in another dimention and its imposible for someone in the living dimention to take the code and revive them (unless they know? idk it was vague)
More adventures to come with different pairs of sticks!
Q: Favorite part about writing stories? A: Making them feel believable, real, like something that could happen (theyre really in the videogame or interacting with that person in the computer)
Q: How old are the stick figures? A: They dont have an official age, you can see them as teenagers/early 20s (because of their personalities) "is not like they're people and age the same"
Q: Do you think AvM tournament arc is a good idea? A: good idea, brainstorming something similar
Q: Would you think of making a series about TCO/TDL or slice of life of the mercenaries? A: Great ideas, would be experimenting with the shorter episodes
Q: Is AvA 12 coming this year? A: Summer if everything goes fine
Q: How Purple met King orange? A: "You've seen the tunnels conecting the outernet and the internet, thanks to the wings Purple could travel safely and meet him"
Q: When is Purple's birthday? A: Alan doesnt know and thinks Purple wouldnt know either (maybe february? Alan feels like it would be)
Q: What are the/would there be Mercenaries official names? A: Become a member to know what production calls them
Q: Least favorite Character? A: Alan is not that emotionally attached to The Chosen One (cuz he's not very emotionally developed) (they have plans for that)
Q: Favorite Episode? A: episode 30 AvM
Q: If you turn off the computer, what happens to the character? A: Think of it as when electricity goes off. Is dark, is cold, nothing works, cant interact with anything. They probably just sleep.
Q: Is AvA/M same universe? A: Same universe, they happen offset of each other (like an alternative path created after discovering minecraft). Sometimes AvA is first, sometimes they happen at the same time (very messy timelines ngl)
Q: Would Mitsi be revived? A: We will see
Alan doesnt play among us (idk random chat question hehe)
Q: Are you planning another series? something different? A: Theyre gonna try with the minisodes
Q: Why are there so many Green episodes and little of the others? (concert, influencer arc, prank) A: They had the ideas before deciding who, is coincidence. They want to even it out.
Q: Why are newer AvM so childish? A: Alan didnt see them as childish and a lot of the audience are children (younger than 30) so
Q: Who made Corndog guy? A: Skim did and he is sorry
Q: Was AvM season 3 planned from the start or was it made as it was going? A: It was a skeleton and got stuff added (like the Warden was added as soon as they knew about it) (Alan contacted the creator of the Warden and he didnt answer until after the episode released lol) The golden apple was a placeholder for whatever the Warden dropped
Q: Will King's son come back? A: Do you want to? (another poll, chat was very divided) "thank you for the feedback" and said nothing more
Alan has cried after watching the finished animation (cried with King and Victim's stories)
Q: Has the story changed? A: Yes, Alan didnt plan to do more after AvA 1
Q: How long did it take to write AvM season 3? A: It took months. Alan got ideas while watching Avengers. King is inspired in Thanos and Purple in Loki
Q: What are some quirks the sticks have? A: Green likes udon noodles and listens to daft punk. Yellow could be into rubiks cube, Blue could be superstitious (horoscopes and astrology), Red has the most ADHD so whatever people with ADHD do. There's nothing "official" and we fans can give them some.
Q: Character you relate the most? A: Alan: The Second Coming. He's he older brother/father figure. Little silly and wants to stay home all day. Skim relates to Victim (connected while writing him.) Quiet and wants to keep occupied with work, has problems relating with people but gets stuff done
Q: How long does it take to make an AvA episode? A: Depends, last one took a year (because of all the new things) 6-8 months if everything goes fine (theyre working on AvA 13 as well)
Q: Is Purple part of the group now? A: Kinda. Like the friend who doesnt live there but visits a lot
Q: Why the name Mitsi? A: Someone sugested reverse Victim's name and change some letters
Q: If you could rewrite someone who would it be? A: Bob
Q: Would there be scary videos? A: Yeah? (kids like scary so maybe?)
Q: Episode you're most proud of? A: Right now Animation vs Adiction
Q: Upcoming video you're excited the most? A: (to avoid spoilers they mentioned the bedwars episode and Alan is excited for the next season of AvM) (Skim is excited for AvA 12&13 and said they're kinda like 2 parts of the same episode 👀)
Q: Would you upgrade to Windows 11? A: Is in discussion
Q: Are there gonna be new characters introduced? A: In AvM maybe, in AvA there's room for that, dont know about mayor characters
Q: Why the sticks dont talk? A: It was unintentional but it turned out fine. no script, no lipsync, no voice actors, more international audience
Q: Animation vs Roblox? A: they have no idea how to do it. it had to be a series and each episode they play different famous games (dont get your hopes up for this one)
Q: When are the mini episodes coming out? A: soon
Q: How rich is corndog guy? A: Not rich enough

From the Slang Dictionary
part 2
Algospeak - coded language that people use (“speak”) to avoid being censored or moderated by AI algorithms. It combines algo- from the word "algorithm" with the word speak. The word was used as early as 2016 on social media. Many websites, especially social media sites, use AI algorithms to moderate the large amount of content posted on their platforms. These algorithms often automatically flag or delete content that contains or mentions words or phrases that the algorithm has been programmed to recognize as being unacceptable. However, this often causes algorithms to flag or remove permitted content that discusses sensitive issues or content that uses the “unacceptable” words without breaking any rules. Being aware of this, many communities on social media use coded language, emoji, or euphemisms to avoid having their content removed by algorithms. The term algospeak refers to this language. For example, people used terms like panoramic, panini, and panda express to refer to the COVID-19 pandemic after platforms began removing content that mentioned the pandemic to attempt to halt the spread of misinformation. Some other examples of algospeak include using the word seggs instead of sex, the word accountants to refer to sex workers, the word unalive to refer to death or suicide, the corn emoji to refer to pornography, and the phrase leg booty to refer to the LGBTQ+ community.
Birb - also spelled as berb, is a deliberate misspelling of bird used in internet slang such as DoggoLingo. It’s used as a playful way to refer to cute birds, particularly pet birds.
Bye Felicia - a slang way of dismissing someone. Sometimes formatted as bye, Felicia and based on a movie character whose name is spelled Felisha, it often appears in memes, GIFs, and hashtags online to express disregard or indifference to someone. The term has been popular in Black culture since the 1990s when the film was released, although the original spelling of the name “Felisha” has changed to the more common (and, some would point out, more “white”) spelling, Felicia. Bye Felicia is considered by some to be an example of white culture appropriating Black culture, often with little knowledge of the original source material. The phrase enjoyed renewed popularity around 2009 thanks to its frequent use on the reality TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race. It got another bump in December 2018, when former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, used it as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to describe what was going through her head as she and President Obama waved goodbye to the White House at the end of Obama’s presidency in January 2017. Bye Felicia is most often used humorously or as a way to throw shade at someone, suggesting the speaker couldn’t be bothered with another person’s presence or is surprised they haven’t left yet. While humor is almost always part of the intention in using the term, the tone in which it is said has changed somewhat over time. Initially, bye Felicia was said coolly or nonchalantly, as in the movie Friday; now, it’s just as often used in a more aggressive or melodramatic way.
Doggo - this and pupper are affectionate terms for dog and puppy used in the internet slang called DoggoLingo. This emerged in the 2010s and drew on existing online culture, such as lolspeak, the snek meme, and Doge.
Left on read - in internet slang, a person is left on read when a recipient has read, but not responded to, a sender’s message. The expression is often used to express feeling ignored. A read receipt lets the sender know a digital message has been opened or seen (i.e., read) by the recipient. Microsoft Outlook, for instance, allows read receipts for email. Apple has enabled read receipts for text messages since 2011.
Receipts - slang for “proof” or “evidence,” often used to call out someone for lying or to show someone is being genuine. In popular culture, such receipts may come in the form of screenshots, images, or videos. They also often concern things done by famous people. One of the first prominent uses of receipts came in a 2002 interview of singer Whitney Houston by Diane Sawyer for ABC. Sawyer brought up the topic of recent tabloid headlines that accused Houston of buying large amounts of crack cocaine. Houston denied these accusations and demanded proof: “I want to see the receipts.”
Shelfie - a picture of a shelf, especially a bookshelf that shows off someone’s books, movies, art, collectibles, special belongings, etc. It can also be a proper selfie if you are in the picture with the shelves. On social media, the hashtag #shelfie is often posted alongside pictures of various shelves where a person lives or works.
Snacc - internet slang for an extremely attractive or sexy person (i.e., you want to gobble them up like a snack). It’s also internet slang used when cute animals are seeking or enjoying a snack. Snacc, with two Cs, emerges on Black Twitter in 2009, the deliberate misspelling is consistent with other black slang terms, such as phat, thicc, and succ. Early uses of this term refer to actual snacks. Sexual senses of snacc do begin to appear around this time in wordplay, but it doesn’t take off in earnest until around 2017.
Spirit animal - In certain spiritual traditions or cultures, this refers to a spirit which helps guide or protect a person on a journey and whose characteristics that person shares or embodies. It is also metaphor, often humorous, for someone or something a person relates to or admires. The ancient concept of animal guides, particularly prominent in some indigenous, especially Native American, religions and cultures, was adopted in Pagan and Wiccan spirituality in the 1990s. In these contexts, spirit animals are meant literally, referring to spiritual guides or totems that take the form of animals. Earnest quizzes began to emerge in the mid-2000s to help you find your spirit animal. Spirit animal has increasingly been used to indicate, ironically, a strong appreciation or identification for someone or something.
Tea - best served piping hot, tea is slang for “gossip,” a juicy scoop, or other personal information. As far as we can tell, it was steeped in black drag culture. One theory connects tea to the celebrated drag performer The Lady Chablis, who is quoted in the 1994 bestseller Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil: “Yeah, my T. My thing, my business, what’s goin’ on in my life.” T, here, is short for truth.

Gay Easter Eggs in BBC Sherlock
(I trust the above requires no explanation.)
Perhaps someone has done this before, but I wanted to put together a compilation of gay easter eggs in the show that I’ve seen other people point out and/or have thoughts on myself. So here it is!
When I say “easter eggs,” I’m thinking of small clues that the show creators included in the set designs, music choices, and other details of the show to reference that Sherlock and John are in love. I’m thinking of things you could miss at first, especially little clues that often require a bit of extra information or require observations across episodes to understand.
Of course, there’s also lots of subtext woven into the show, moments where interpreting the dialogue or visuals in a certain way tells us something about Sherlock, John, and/or the state of their feelings for one another. I’m not sure if I can clearly define “subtext” versus “easter eggs” and explain what distinguishes them, but at least to me, several of the things I’ve listed here seem a bit different from what people often refer to as subtext. Maybe subtext is about uncovering the layers to a piece of dialogue or an action that takes place in plain sight and seeing how that impacts our interpretation of the story, but easter eggs are about spotting smaller, hidden details. I’m not trained in literary or film studies, though, and I’m not trying to be doctrinaire about this at all! This list is just for fun, anyway. (The above image might not actually count as an easter egg, but I couldn’t resist including it here. Indulge me.)
The more I read about this show and the harder I look, the more I think that hardly anything is there on accident. All these easter eggs must have been included on purpose. The creators knew they were telling a love story all along.
I’ve linked to the posts where I initially saw people point these out or to other good sources, and for some of these I’ve added my own commentary/observations/interpretations. I’m sure there are many other easter eggs that I’ve missed! What have you spotted?
John’s PIN in TBB – When John tries to pay for his groceries at the beginning of the episode, we see that his PIN is 743. In ASIB, Irene’s code to unlock her phone is SHER, which would be 7437 on a phone keypad. So, John’s PIN is a clue that he is or will be in love with Sherlock. Source: @loudest-subtext-in-tv, here.
Shaftesbury Avenue, 20m from Piccadilly Circus in TBB – While investigating in Chinatown, Sherlock and John bump into each other at what used to be a cruising spot for gay men in London. Source: @the-signs-of-two, here.
Archer the American in ASIB – In the scene where the American CIA agents try to get Sherlock to open Irene’s safe, the head CIA agent pressures Sherlock by threatening to have one of his men shoot John. The agent says: “Mr. Archer, on the count of three, shoot Dr. Watson.” Ordering someone named “Archer” to shoot John could be a reference to Arthur Conan Doyle’s poem “The Blind Archer,” which is about Cupid and describes Cupid shooting two men who sound an awful lot like Sherlock and John. Source: couldntpossiblycomment, here.
“¿Dónde Estás, Yolanda?” in TEH – The song that plays during the scene with John and Sherlock’s disastrous reunion at the Landmark restaurant is a cover of the song “¿Dónde Estás, Yolanda?” performed by the band Pink Martini. The Spanish lyrics to this song are about searching for a long-lost lover, which is fitting for the scene where John sees Sherlock again for the first time since his fall. Notably, the creators didn’t use the first of the two versions of this song that Pink Martini has released. The band’s first version appears on their 1997 studio album Sympathique and features a man singing about a woman. Instead of using that version, the creators used the version from Pink Martini’s 2011 compilation album A Retrospective, in which China Forbes performs most of the vocals. So, the creators deliberately chose a remade version of the song in which a woman sings about a woman. They chose a gay song about searching for a long-lost lover for Sherlock and John’s reunion. abrae (@tea-and-liminality on tumblr) has a meta with more to say about the use of this song here.
John’s “oscillation on the pavement” in TEH – In TSOT, John observes a potential client standing outside 221B and trying to make up her mind as to whether to come in. Sherlock tells John “I’ve seen those symptoms before. Oscillation on the pavement always means there’s a love affair.” In the previous episode, John came to visit Sherlock at 221B but hesitated on the pavement outside, staring at the door and trying to decide whether to go in. Sherlock’s comment, “I’ve seen those symptoms before,” is a hint that we, the audience, have also seen those symptoms before—with John in the previous episode. Source: @bidoctor, here. (I saw someone else point out that last part about Sherlock’s hint to the audience, but I can’t find that post, sorry!)
Lilac dresses in TSOT – While planning John and Mary’s wedding, Sherlock chooses lilac-colored dresses for the bridesmaids. When John tells Sherlock that he likes the bridesmaids in purple, Sherlock pointedly corrects him by stating that the dresses are lilac. Apparently, “In Victorian times, giving a lilac meant that the giver is trying to remind the receiver of a first love.” So by dressing the bridesmaids in lilac, Sherlock is trying to remind John of his first love: himself, Sherlock. My heart breaks. Source: @asherlockstudy, here.
Putting the horns on Mary and Janine in TSOT and HLV – In TSOT, there’s a shot where Mary gives Sherlock and John a thumbs up before they head out on a case. The way Mary is standing, the horns on Sherlock’s cow skull thing on the wall behind her are placed right over her head. (I always thought this shot looked pretty weird, but now I see that it must have been intentional!) In the HLV scene with Janine at 221B, there’s a moment when Janine steps in front of John in the frame to kiss Sherlock, and her movement positions the horns right over her head. “Putting the horns” on someone means cheating on them. So in both cases, placing the horns right above Mary’s and Janine’s heads indicates to the audience that Sherlock and John are the real relationship in this show. The architecture of Sherlock’s mind palace in HLV – In the mind palace scene after Mary shoots Sherlock, the architecture of Sherlock’s mind palace is based on locations from ASIP. Sherlock literally built his mind palace out of places from his first case with John, illustrating that his relationship with John is what grounds him and that it means everything to him. abrae has some very helpful screencaps of this here (and I would recommend that whole meta, btw!)
The glasshouse scene in TAB – In TAB, the Victorian John tries to ask Sherlock about his sexuality and sexual history while they’re sitting in a glasshouse. In Victorian Britain, “glasshouse” was another term for a military prison. So John, a military veteran, asks Sherlock about his sexuality in a setting that represents where he would have been sent if he had acted upon his homosexual desires at a time when homosexuality was criminalized.
